Notes from an Intern
Yesterday was my first official day interning with the Des Moines Social Club and I have to say it was a great experience! I met some great people and spent the majority of the day researching grants for the Evelyn K. Davis project. For those of you who don't know Evelyn K. Davis is an African American woman who founded the Tiny Tot Child Care Center for low income families around Iowa. In 1983 she was inducted into the Iowa Women's Hall of Fame and the Tiny Tot Center is still functioning today. The script for the project is being written by a group of writers, performers, designers etc. from the Social Club and with any luck we'll be able to find some (or a lot :D) money to help fund it!
